New Trial for Dec 6th

Posted November 27th, 2009 by Admin

Due to popular demand we are going to try adding a walking route to our regular cycle ride on Dec 6th. The route will be approx 7miles, and should take 1.5-2hrs to complete, so roughly the same time as the longer cycle routes.

We are also happy to run the shorter 7mile cycle route as well if wanted, although we may need to find a responsible volunteer to lead this ride.

The routes are all available from the events page as .jpg format as the Google Earth experiment didn’t seem to work so well. In each case if you click on the thumbnail it should show the full size image.

Routes in Google Earth

Posted November 23rd, 2009 by Admin

We’ve been experimenting with the best way to share the routes we’re planning to cycle on our regular rides. This time we’ve mapped them using Google Earth

  • Unfortunately the attempt we made to map in Google Earth didn’t work – please see the routes available from the events page instead

Let us know if you’ve got suggestions on displaying the routes clearly.

December Cycle Ride

Posted November 20th, 2009 by Admin

We’ll be getting together for our next social practice cycle ride on Sunday Dec 6th, meeting at 10am at the clubhouse. This ride will be a reprise of the October routes, though only the 2 longer rides. The routes can be seen on the events page.

It is winter, so please dress appropriately for the weather, whatever that ends up being on Sunday. There are shower and changing facilities at the clubhouse and food and drinks will be available from the bar. All abilities very welcome and no special equipment is required.

Please note that all riders ride at their own risk.

Help Needed

Everyone involved with Inspired Living is a volunteer, and we have a lot more ideas than we can implement currently. If you would like to join us and help make our ideas reality, or have some good ideas of your own you would like to work through with us please get in touch.

Currently we are particularly looking for help with:

  • Mass ride co-ordination
  • Mass ride planning
  • Events planning
  • Fund raising
  • Website attractions – games etc
  • Website/Press report writing
  • Photography
  • Helpers at events – manning desks etc
  • Book keeping / finance tracking for sub groups
  • Translation – Spanish / French
  • Liaison with key partners, supporters, interested parties
  • And good ideas are always welcome!

Here’s the group that went cycling on the 8th November. If you click on the pic it should show in larger format so you can spot where you are or see who you already know.

Looking forward to Sunday

Posted November 6th, 2009 by Admin

We hope you’re looking forward to Sunday as much as we are.

Just a few updates and reminders …

For the Cycle Ride

  • We are aiming to leave the clubhouse at 2pm, meeting from 1.30pm to enable a prompt start.
  • There will be 2 rides this Sunday, not 3 as last time, one 10-15miles and the other 25-30miles. Maps will be available on the day
  • We will aim to be back at the clubhouse before the light fails, but please bring lights with you if you have them just in case
  • Please dress appropriately for the weather, whatever that ends up being on Sunday. A change of clothes may be a good idea.
  • There are shower and changing facilities at the clubhouse and food will be available from the bar throughout the evening.
  • Please note – if you join us you are cycling at your own risk.

We hope you will stay for the Celebration after the Cycle Ride, or come along just for the evening even if you can’t make the ride.

Starting at 5pm in the Clubhouse Hall, there will be updates on our plans and a raffle to raise some funds. From 7.30pm we will move into the bar for a few informal drinks and you are welcome to join us.
