Barbara Parry is helping us ensure we are getting the right nutrition for the level of training we are doing over the next few months leading up to the cycle ride. We are also hoping she will be working with a chef to generate some healthy, seasonal recipes. If you have any questions you would like covered in a nutrition session please contact Barbara.

The first nutrition sessions will cover the eatwell plate and categorizing foods. This Healthy Eating booklet, produced for us by Barbara, contains additional information.

Barbara Parry has recommended the following books for further reading, both available from Amazon.

Food For Fitness is a practical book, a good starting point for people that want to improve their nutrition without getting into too much technical detail The Complete Guide is a more technical book, with full detail for enthusiasts.

Then we covered Food Labelling. Additional information on Food Labelling can be found on the Food Standards Agency. As well as a number of useful downloadable leaflets.

Hydration was the topic of the next session, a very quick overview of the main points. The files linked below will give the main points from the session.

On June 13th Linia came to Hursley to give us some specialist advice on endurance cycling. The notes are attached below for reference.
